  • Vintage Decorative Bowl, Oriental Roosters, Hand Painted Moriage, Chinoiserie, Asian Style Decor, Pewter Casing, Home Decor, Japanese Porcelain Ware, Mid Century, (Discontinued)
  • Made in Japan, Decorated in Hong Kong*
  • Vintage:  1960's - 1970's (estimated)
  • Details:  Strikingly beautiful Oriental / Asian artisan decorative bowl.  It's hand painted with four roosters in the center, cherry blossoms, flowers and birds in the background.  Vibrant, gorgeous colors: reds, blues and greens with touches of pinks and yellow, and a gilded border.  The bowl is encased in a pewter, we believe these pewter cases became popular because they were less likely to brake during export.  Should be used for decoration only, there is a back-stamp that clearly states this is old, from a time when lead paint was used, Do Not use with food.  The back-stamp also states this is Japanese porcelain, hand painted in Hong Kong.  Makes a unique gift for anyone born on the Year of the Rooster, (next one is 2029, previous ones were: 1945, 1957, 1969, 1981, 1993, or 2005).  Perfect piece of decor for the Oriental lover.
  • Material:  Porcelain and Pewter
  • Dimension:  7.5 inches in Diameter
  • Condition:  Vintage- Used.  Excellent Condition.  There are no chips, cracks or scratches on this bowl.  Please review all pictures and make sure you love this item before purchasing, we can't accept returns.  Please remember these are ANTIQUE and VINTAGE items, they are NOT new, every effort has been made to show any scratches, wear and tear and imperfections.

*The Hong Kong porcelain trade hit its peak in the 1960's, with just over a hundred workshops in the territory. At this time the demand for Hong Kong decorated porcelain forced the workshops to also import white porcelain from Japan to be decorated in Hong Kong. Some trading agents specifically ordered plain porcelain from Japan. The porcelain trade thrived until the 1970's.
